What is DELIVER?

Deliver is a successor to Family Planning Logistics Management Project (FPLM), which was implemented in Bangladesh since 1988.

The overarching goal of DELIVER project is to assist developing country health programs in securing the availability of a broad range of contraceptives, HIV/AIDS condoms, and other essential health commodities to clients at service delivery points. This goal both broadens the scope and refines the focus of USAID's two decades of effort aimed at improving and institutionalizing logistics management capabilities in host-countries service delivery systems.

DELIVER Bangladesh

The central focus of DELIVER Bangladesh Project is to securing contraceptives security for millions of users both for voluntary fertility reduction and disease prevention including HIV/AIDS by assisting MOHFW/DGFP with technical assistance in managing finance, procurement, storage and distribution of commodities as well as ensuring commitment of and coordination among various actors.

For achieving contraceptive security DELIVER Project organizes its activities within a technical framework, which corresponds to the four broad areas of contraceptive security.
  1. Finance
  2. Capacity
  3. Commitment
  4. Coordination
This framework ensures that all project activities contribute directly to implementing a logistics system aimed at continuous availability of contraceptives and essential health products at service delivery points.

DELIVER supports DGHS as well by assisting in computerizing the Warehouse Inventory Management System (WIMS) at CMSD and training health logistics personnel.
